The peripatetic book author and Italian travel guide, Susan Van Allen, was featured at Learn Italy's Book Talk, "Why Women Love Italy". Her new Italy guide book, 100 Places in Italy Every Woman Should Go, was on sale, and Susan was on hand to autograph copies. The event began with a reception and Susan's slide show, where she described the joy of discovering Italian Renaissance art, murals in cathedrals, hidden hotels, trattorias, bakeries, expansive countrysides, wine vineyards, and the Grand Canal of Venice. Susan was later joined by Renée Restivo, whose Soul of Sicily programs bring Italian food enthusiasts into private Sicilian homes to learn secrets of cooking, baking, and Sicilian culture.
The Learn Italy guests participated in a question-discussion book talk, following the slide show, and another reception ensued. Call Learn Italy at 917.903.3093 to enroll in language classes or to find out about future events, or simply log onto their informative website to enroll and see listings and Italian excursions. Learn Italy is well located on West 37th Street, NYC, near all transportation. Tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com. "Grazie mille".
