The Consulate General of Argentina in New York City has two spacious art galleries, and Pablo Beltramino, Deputy Consul General of Argentina in New York, has kindly invited me to their opening receptions for quite some time. Tonight I was able to return to the Consulate with Carlos Salvador, an officer in the midtown Avenue of the Americas branch of Commerce Bank. We both had a lovely time, with the authentic wines of Argentina served and with the social, warm ambiance of the evening.
Andrea Cukier paints lushly, with oil on canvas, that evokes memories and imagery of her native Argentina. Ingrid Kaufmann, also from Argentina, paints large, colorful, surreal seashells in varied designs and textures. The Consulate was filled with its art aficionados, many of whom are from Argentina and neighboring countries. The Consulate General also helps tourists in travel arrangements throughout Argentina and assists Argentineans visiting New York.
