Patelson Music House, founded by Joseph Patelson in 1947, tonight presented a special event, the launching of Phil Grabsky’s inspiring documentary film, In Search of Mozart. The Patelson fans, who usually experience live jazz or classical duos, were enthralled with this dramatic film, imbued with Mozart’s elegant refrains. Several DVD’s were sold during the televised viewing. Patelson Music House still has additional Mozart film DVD’s, which can be purchased at the store, across from Carnegie Hall, where Mozart’s symphonies and sonatas are right at home.
The Patelson guests also browsed the eclectic sheet music collection of Mozart, Brahms, and Beethoven, as well as Broadway melodies and jazz standards. This was, as always, a complimentary Open House, hosted by Marsha Patelson, and staff was on hand to help serve wine, cheese, and hors d’oeuvres. Wines from 67 Wine & Spirits were poured, and elegant sorbets were provided by Wine Cellar Sorbets.
In the Fall of 2008, new Wine Wednesday events will entertain the growing list of Patelson fans. Check the Upcoming Events Column for Fall 2008 dates. The complimentary evenings begin at 5:30 PM and last until 7:30 PM.
