Roberta E. Zlokower June 25, 2004 Whole Foods Market at Shops at Columbus Circle in NYC is quite an amazing experience. It appears to be the entire expanse of the downstairs of the AOL/Time Warner Building, decorated and filled to the brim with fresh produce, meats, fish, fruits, breads, pastries, cosmetics, and all organic. On several recent shopping trips I have purchased fresh soft shell crabs (for sautéed soft shell crabs with lemon, wine, onions, portobello mushrooms, and asparagus), the largest and juiciest strawberries I have ever seen (for strawberries, baguette, chevre [goat cheese], and white wine), and Cajun salmon sausages (for cold, sliced salmon sausage on baby spinach, shallots, baby mushrooms, and crumbled feta). I forgot how much I love to cook!! New Yorkers are now polishing and upgrading their cooking equipment for the next trip to Whole Foods Market. And, there are regular wine tastings in the enclosed wine shop, which is open all day, Sundays! Check this page for shopping and cooking updates and ideas. Whole Foods Market is the place to shop for the July 4 Weekend! And, they deliver.
