The Nominations for the 59th Annual Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards were announced at the Marriott Marquis, NYC, by special guest stars from Broadway Theatre and by officers of the League of American Theatres and Producers and of the American Theatre Wing. Gerald Schoenfeld is Chairman of the League, and Jed Bernstein is President. Doug Leeds is President at the Wing, Howard Sherman is Executive, and Sondra Gilman is Chairman. The 2005 Tony Awards will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on CBS, Sunday, June 5, from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Hugh Jackman will be host.
The nominees for this year’s Tony awards were announced early this morning by Alan Cumming, Lynn Redgrave, Kate Burton, and Brian Stokes Mitchell. Some of the nominees were announced live on the CBS The Early Show, with Harry Smith as Host. A special Tony Award will be given to Edward Albee for Lifetime Achievement.
