This is a scintillating, sensational, 16-track CD, fusing the accordion and guitar of Django Reinhardt aficianados, Ludovic Beier and Angelo Debarre, with heart-throbbing, hot Swing. The extensive ensemble of guest artists on rhythm guitar and bass create a party ambiance for listening or dance.
Notable tracks:
#4 – Entre Amis – Composed by Angelo Debarre. With a Brazilian Samba entrance, this engaging title song flashes with lightning, thanks to Debarre’s frenetic fingering. Generous accordion solos allow shifting leads to this effervescent theme.
#8 – Troublant Bolero – Composed by Django Reinhardt. With some exotic percussion, a true Django Reinhardt composition unfolds with Debarre’s electric entrance. Beier’s accordion keys wax in heavenly tremolos in an echoing, embellished theme.
#11 – Passion – Composed by T. Murena and J. Colombo. This piece is an Argentine Milonga. The hypnotic melody races across the accordion, substituting for the bandoneon, a similar instrument, requisite in Tango events. The twirling, fluid dance is rapturously realized.
#15 – Mirages – Composed by Ludovic Beier. Beier’s mellow accordion solo work is romantic and rich, with a wistful, entrancing mood. At times Beier’s lone accordion evolves into a fully blended orchestra!
