On the first night of the Yankees Playoffs I dined at Jake's Saloon, with a good deal of Chardonnay, plus shrimp cocktail and my favorite salad, topped with chevre (goat cheese). Jake's Saloon (The other Jake's Saloon is at West 23rd Street, off Seventh Avenue) has strategically placed televisions to watch all the sports events, depending on the crowd. In the background is nice listening music, and the bar scene (across from CBS Studios) is quite lively and increasingly busy as the evening grows. My Chardonnay and salad seemed a bit more elegant than the usual fare, the more popular Jake's burgers, French Fries, beer, steaks, sea bass, and so much more. Check www.robertaonthearts.com/id498a.html/">Jake's Saloon Website for a full and detailed menu, and tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com, when you go for football and fish and chips.
