The New Yorker Hotel
The New Yorker Hotel is a historical, first-class, landmark hotel. It is centrally located directly across from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station, close to Macy's, the Empire State Building, the Javits Convention Center, and the Broadway Theaters. There are panoramic views of the city from the New Yorker's 1,000, newly re-decorated rooms - all of which are above the 18th floor. The river and city views are incredible!

The Winter Holiday Season is always spectacular in Manhattan, with the quintessential Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, at Fifth Avenue and 50th Street, overlooking the large ice-skating rink and restaurants, the Christmas décor and celebrations at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, across Fifth Avenue, and the wondrous, fantasy window displays at Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor, as well as all the festivities and Santa at Macy’s, a bit further downtown, in Herald Square.

My guests from suburban Philadelphia joined me for a day of endless walking and window gazing, as well as a visit to St. Patrick’s; then, across the Avenue for a breathtaking view of the tree and the ice-skaters. My youngest guest, age two, was especially impressed on her first Christmas outing at the heart of Manhattan’s showcased lights and décor. Don’t wait to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center or the windows at Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor, as they will be removed after the New Year. Bring a child, if you can; otherwise the young at heart.
