NorthWest's proprietor, Matt, recently offered an outdoor dining option on a balmy January eve. NorthWest is conveniently located, opposite the American Museum of Natural History. If you spend a day at the Museum or attend one of the Starry Nights jazz events, NorthWest is the perfect dining venue to relax and explore wines from around the globe, with one of Matt's Wine Flights, that is, samplings by taste, glass, or bottle, either from one particular vineyard or from a wine genre, such as Chardonnay or Champagne.

You can stop by any day after work or before Lincoln Center for a Prix Fixe dinner for $25.00 (does not include drinks, tip, tax) from 5:00 to 9:00 PM, with an appetizer (perhaps steamed mussels), an entree (perhaps chicken paillard), and a dessert (perhaps tiramisu). NorthWest is open at 11:00 AM on weekends for brunch and at 11:00 AM weekdays for lunch until 4:30 PM. Dinner is served 4:30 PM until 12:00 midnight Sundays and Mondays, until 1:00 AM Tuesdays through Thursdays, and until 3:00 AM weekends, so it's never too late to stop by NorthWest for fine Italian dining and international wines and cognacs.

The late night, West Side crowd now has its own dining destination, with Brazilian, Mambo, Ballads, and Jazz wafting through the clean lines of Matt's interior design. Another highlight at NorthWest is the expansive and exquisite display of travel photography; downstairs it is Venice, upstairs it is Cuba and VIP photographs, all photos courtesy of Brian Hamill, photographer, and all are for sale, in shades of brown that contrast with the richly dark woods and pristine white walls. You can dine streetside, at the bar, in the busy, beautiful downstairs, or upstairs in a more private space (which seats a party of 18 and can serve a cocktail party of up to 65), amongst Charles Lindsay's Cuba photos, or Brian Hamill's "Tests of Time" VIP photos, one of John Lennon, for example. Ask Matt to show you the fine art photos and elegant event spaces.

Call 212.799.4530, ask for Matt, and tell him you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com!
