The Nominations for the 60th Annual Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards were announced at the New York Library for the Performing Arts, NYC, at a reception hosted by IBM. Past Tony Winners, Phylicia Rashad, Natasha Richardson and Liev Schreiber announced the winners, live on The Early Show, with Harry Smith, on CBS television. Twenty three theatre professionals, appointed by the Tony Awards Administration Committee, selected the nominees. The 2006 Tony Awards are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing. Gerald Schoenfeld is Chairman of the League, and Jed Bernstein is President. Doug Leeds is President at the Wing, Howard Sherman is Executive Director, and Sondra Gilman is Chairman. The 2006 Tony Awards will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on CBS, Sunday, June 11, from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
