With not much time to laze around, we cabbed over to the exquisitely sited, Terrace In the Sky, for a Sunday brunch. Nearly en plein air, seated as we were with a wrap-around penthouse view, taking in the George Washington Bridge and Riverside Park, we and our friends, Nikolas and Jessica, made some hard menu choices.
With the assistance of our maitre d’, John, we settled on berry pancakes, Peekeytoe crab cakes, gravlox, mimosas, good, strong coffee, eggs Benedict, breast of chicken, molten chocolate cake, selected sorbets, fresh fruits, and a birthday surprise. With the gilded antiques, fireplace, profusion of flowers and wafting tunes from Akiva’s jazz group, playing to the private party, we royally savored the experience of the delicious food and sublime view. When it is warm I hope to return for rooftop dining and music.
Time flew. Four days in New York were not nearly enough for more than a taste, a drink, a dance or two. The only solution is to return again soon for the next adventure.
