Grishko Dancewear opened its new West 50th Street shop today, with a chamber duo, white wine, and an elegant array of its fine quality pointe shoes, ballet slippers, ballroom shoes, character shoes, dance boots, leotards, and sample custom tutus. Grishko's Cheetah line of skirts, sweaters, leg warmers, and shorts was also on display, catching the eye with its stunning design. Grishko has a Master pointe shoe fitter, Judy Weiss, who introduced herself to the guests, including American Ballet Corps dancer, Mikhail Ilyin, from Russia. Adam Pollack is Director of Sales in the New York shop (the only Grishko retail shop in the US), and he looks forward to meeting dancers from the New York ballet community.
New York is home to New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and numerous smaller companies and ballet ensembles. In addition, national and international ballet companies perform widely in New York, and Grishko's NYC shop looks forward to greeting them in its warm and inviting new venue on the 2nd floor, 309 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues. Irina Wilson is President and Founder of Grishko USA, fittingly based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania (Grishko shoes and dancewear are made in and imported from Russia). Ms. Wilson is delighted to have this unique retail showcase, at a time when ballet in New York is a thriving performing arts genre, with an impassioned following. She and her Grishko USA team, including Maureen Boyd in Marketing, are busily creating new opportunities to market their fashionable and high quality dancewear products in New York City and the Tri-State region.
