I had the pleasure this morning to ride NY Splash Tours’ AquaBus, designed to evoke the memory of Henry Hudson’s famous ship, The Half Moon. We started in Times Square, and, while caught in some of the Eighth Avenue Food Festival traffic, Bonnie, our tour guide, chatted dramatically and enthusiastically about each building or landmark that we passed. In fact, she is a woman who really knows New York and a theatre aficionado, as well.

Just as we approached the Hudson River, the multi-media theatre lifted right within the bus. Films and dialogue simulated Henry Hudson’s journey, and we heard rushing wind and crashing waves. Then the AquaBus gently splashed into the Hudson, and we sailed, looking at the NYC skyline, cruise ships, and regatta boats. Soon, we left the Hudson and returned to Times Square. I personally recommend the NY Splash Tour for native New Yorkers and tourists alike. It's fun, and kids and adults will love the experience, which lasts about one hour. In fact, Gray Line's NY Splash Tour is a great idea to surprise a date, a friend, or a relative. I was accompanied today by a relative, and she was quite impressed.
