Ninth Avenue from 42nd Street to 57th Street
New York, New York

Dr. Roberta E. Zlokower
May 16, 2015

Ninth Avenue was bursting all weekend with steaming fresh cooking, handmade international crafts, framed posters, creative jewelry, piped in music, a children's play fire station, and smiling visitors from around the globe. Photos below represent a taste of today's crowded culinary experience. Ninth Avenue, from 42nd Street to 57th Street, celebrated dishes, drinks, and desserts from Ecuador, Thailand, Germany, Turkey, Italy, Ireland, France, and Belgium, to name a cross-section of represented cultures. For those looking for gifts and accessories, they were not disappointed, with woven rugs, travel jewelry, colorful fruit and fish magnets, straw hats, handmade sweaters, tropical music CDs, pan flutes, bottled spices, and herbal soaps. Check the Festival link above to mark your calendar for the 2016 International Food Festival, as it's a lovely way to spend a Saturday.
