Tonight I had the pleasure to join the Puglia Center members, and its gracious hostess, Rosanna Coscia, President of the Puglia Center, at Zucca Trattoria in the heart of Greenwich Village. This was the Puglia Center's Christmas dinner, and hosts Gino and Frank, with roots in Puglia, were on hand with staff to keep the many delicious courses flowing, from antipasto, to pasta, to chicken and veal, to panettone, all the while refilling wine glasses with white or red wines from Italian vineyards.

The Puglia Center helps organize trade shows, public relations events, seminars, and cultural events to promote travel, products, and overall business opportunities for Americans in the Puglia region of Southern Italy and for the Pugliese in America. According to the Puglia Center's website, "Byzantines, Normans, Romans and Turks have influenced the food, the arts and the history of the region. These different cultures have all left their mark... (on the) richness of Pugliese culture in food, the arts and history." From meeting the vivacious dinner guests tonight, all members of the New York - based Puglia Center, and from meeting Gino and son, Frank, Proprietors of Zucca Trattoria, it's obvious that Puglia inspires dynamic cooking and conversation. Zucca Trattoria, located near all Village Jazz Clubs, with tall glass walls onto the sidewalk, draws in the energy of the Village nightlife.
