Sylvia Lima, New Yorker Hotel’s General Manager, and Stephen Simonds, New Yorker Hotel’s Sales/Marketing Staff, recently escorted me on new tours of the Hotel’s remarkable restoration. The New Yorker Hotel was built in the 1930's and renovated by Architectural firm, Stonehill & Taylor, evoking 1930's Hollywood and New York, as well as the SS Normandie cruise ship. The front lobby has removed carpeting to reveal its original marble floors, in striking patterns of burgundy, cream, and silver. The new chandelier has been constructed to match smaller, individual lighting fixtures, all evocative of art deco styling and ambiance.

The lobby ceiling is patterned in hundreds of gold floral squares, and seating groups are in shades of brown, gold, silver, cream, and burgundy. Hand-painted wall murals illustrate iconic images of New York City, like The Brooklyn Bridge, The Chrysler Building, The Statue of Liberty, and Rockefeller Center. Guest rooms are decidedly contemporary and sleek, with silver-brown furniture, flat-panel televisions, creamy marble tables, and elegant, pedestal sinks. The city views are unique, and you can even book a room for special package event tickets. Additional New Yorker Package Specials include Broadway show tickets and much more.

Book a room at The New Yorker Hotel to experience this rare restoration, and be sure to stop by Copper’s Tavern for lunch or dinner. You will be thrilled to find a delightful and delicious selection of contemporary American cuisine.
