Today, a lovely April Sunday, Terrace in the Sky was the perfect destination for a fancy pre-theatre brunch. My guests, Madeline and Camille, were in New York for "Wicked" at the Gershwin Theatre. Of course, no Sunday Broadway matinee is complete, without a Terrace in the Sky three-course brunch. As we perused the menu, Camille enjoyed her five-cherry, "Shirley Temple", while Madeline sipped iced tea, and I ordered my usual Mimosa.

For appetizers, Madeline ordered a Warm Duck Confit with Lardons Frissée, Endive, Poached Pears, and Toasted Hazelnut Vinaigrette. I began with the Peekeytoe Crab Cakes, Baby Romaine Salad, and White Anchovies. Camille had the Cinnamon Challah and Raisins, with NY Maple Syrup and Caramelized Banana, no appetizer needed. For our entrées, Madeline chose Eggs Benedict, Canadian Bacon, Brioche Toast, and Truffled Hollandaise, while I chose Organic Salmon, Puréed Potatoes, Seasonal Greens, and Aromatic Emulsion. Our desserts ranged from my Trio of Homemade Sorbets to Madeline's Gianduja Chocolate Semi Freddo. Camille ordered a colorful fresh fruit plate. Terrace in the Sky is the perfect pre-theatre destination!

For your special occasions, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, baby showers, corporate conferences or retreats, call Chris Bernic at 212.666.9490, and schedule a tour of Terrace in the Sky. Chris and his warm, friendly staff will help you design an elegant and personalized event, well within your budget. And, don’t forget to see their sky-view patio, where your event’s cocktails can be served. For summer dining, the patio is open with its own Outdoor Bar Menu. Be sure to tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com.
