On a recent Saturday about noon, I visited the intimate Thai restaurant, Noodies, on 9th Avenue (54th-55th), to photo owner, Amy, preparing soup in the kitchen, and to photo a selection of dishes, both hot and cold, on their way from kitchen to table. The array was tantalizing, including my own Avocado Curry with Thin Rice Noodle. In fact, Noodies has curries in mild to spicy flavors, in Panang, green, or red curries, adjusted to preference. Appetizers at Noodies include its own Duck Noodle Soup and Mushroom Dumplings. Salads include Papaya and Mango, and Noodies has a spicy rice dish called Krapraw Gai sub. You'll find Noodle Bowls and Stir-Fried Noodle dishes as well.

Every order is fresh and cooked from scratch, with a spotless, well organized kitchen and staff. Noodies is located near Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, New York City Center, the Ailey Dance Center, Lincoln Center, MOMA, the Shops at Columbus Circle, John Jay College, Fordham, Riverside Park, and Central Park. The space is cozy, and the decor includes a vast collection of Thai ceramic bowls. Music of Thailand, and from around the globe, surrounds the guests. Stop by Noodies for lunch or dinner. Fridays and Saturdays they stay open and delivering to the wee hour of 2:30 AM! Be sure to tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com!
