I caught up with Elaine Chelton, Solo Pianist with New York City Ballet, which is about to present its Fall Season at Koch Theater, Lincoln Center. We dined at Noodies, an intimate Thai restaurant, on 9th Avenue (54th-55th). Owner, Amy, joined us for a photo, in between preparing dishes in the kitchen and serving guests along with her staff.

A few days before my dinner with Elaine, I had stopped by Noodies for Vegetable Noodle Soup, pictured below, and that night I also snatched a photo of Amy with her younger daughter, Melody, also seen below. Tonight, arriving earlier than planned, during the final, brutal heat wave, I took photos of guest dishes, Ba-mee, Egg Noodle dish, and Noodies Green Curry with Beef. Below are featured photos from tonight, with our appetizers, Crispy Spring Rolls, with Cabbage, Carrots, Glass Noodles, Celery, Ear Wood Mushrooms, and Plum Sauce, plus Steamed Dumplings, with Ground Pork and Shrimp, Shallots, Water Chestnut, and Shitake Mushrooms. Our entrée, which we split, was Pad Thai with Shrimp, Noodles, Bean Curd, Bean Sprouts, Scallions, Egg, and Peanuts. Everything was hot, fresh, and nicely served.

Every guest's order at Noodies is fresh and cooked from scratch, with a spotless, well organized kitchen and staff. Noodies is located near Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, New York City Center, the Ailey Dance Center, Lincoln Center, MOMA, the Shops at Columbus Circle, John Jay College, Fordham, Riverside Park, and Central Park. The space is cozy, and the décor includes a vast collection of Thai ceramic bowls. Music of Thailand, and from around the globe, surrounds the guests. Stop by Noodies for lunch or dinner. Fridays and Saturdays they stay open and delivering to the wee hour of 2:30 AM! Be sure to tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com!
