On a clear but windy and chilly early spring evening, I boarded the Circle Line for a two-hour Harbor Lights Cruise. The Tour Guide, Jim Horn, was incredibly well versed on the names of all the colorfully lit buildings in the skyline, on the history of NYC bridges and destinations, and even on famous celebrities who lived in the luxurious condos, as we passed by.
Sandwiches, wine, beer, and champagne were served on the boat, with most of the tourists sitting and listening intently to the Tour Guide's presentation. Some brave tourists joined me on the outside deck, where I took photographs and weathered the wind. The blurriness in the photos is due to the unavoidable movement of my camera and my whipping pocketbook, against my leg. However, the cruise was fascinating, and the Statue of Liberty was outlined in the pastels of the setting sun. The deep rivers (we cruised east and west of Manhattan) shone with striking colors in the light of a full moon.
