In the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, Adella, a chic, elegant wine bar, is buzzing with local artists, actors, dancers, writers, and aficionados of the New York arts community. Located on West 43rd Street, between Ninth and Tenth Avenues, across from the Westside Theatre, Adella is your destination before or after a Broadway or Off-Broadway show, Comedy Club, walk on the High Line, or Hudson walk through Riverside Park South. Evan, proprietor, and Dash, bartender, keep Adella’s clientele and first time visitors very enthralled, with an expansive, reasonable menu, chic, cool décor, ,and very attentive service. Adella offers seating in the warm weather on its comfortable sidewalk patio, where you can sip the finest wines and people watch, along one of Hell’s Kitchen’s loveliest blocks. Year-round, you can sit at an expansive marble bar, a wide, repurposed wood, community table, or at intimate, cushioned seating, near the window and bar. Adella is open daily, 4 PM to the flexible wee hours, and for Brunch on weekends, 11:30 AM - 3:30 PM. Adella expertly hosts private and semi-private events, with cocktail service, catered buffets, and sit-down dinners, as well. Adella can also create a custom Wine Tasting, styled to your event theme and budget. Ask the bartender about Adella’s Wine Club, that offers members special discounts, with a one-time, low enrollment fee.

The menu at Adella is inviting, with its own Cheese & Charcuterie menu within. Cheese Plate selections include Isabella Gouda from the Netherlands, El Trigal Manchego from Spain, and La Tur, from Italy. Charcuterie Plate selections include Capicola, a spicy dry-cured pork, Sopressata, a dried pork sausage, and Duck Prosciutto, cured in-house. Selections are expansive and can be combined on platters, individually and for the table. Dozens of small plate selections for cocktail time, dinner, or after-theater include Tuna Tartare, with mashed avocado, red pepper coulis, and mandolined potato, Adella Seafood Platter, with oysters, clams, and shrimp cocktail, Meatballs, with tomato sauce and Pecorino Romano, Beer Braised Beef Stew, with pearl onions, carrots, and fingerling potatoes, Roasted Octopus, with fingerling potatoes, red pepper coulis, and chimichurri, Crostini Flight, with herbed goat cheese and peppers, crab, dill & crème fraiche, spicy free-range chicken, and shaved almond, and five different Flatbreads, like Shitake Mushrooms, with pesto and Stracchino. Dinner desserts vary, with Homemade Bread Pudding a favorite. Of course, Espresso, Latte, and Cappuccino are always available on order. Weekend Brunch menu items include Cocktails, like Elderflower Spritz, Bellini, and Soju Bloody Mary, and Entrées, like Brunch Flatbread, with poached eggs, hollandaise, frisée, bacon, tomato sauce, and Monterey jack cheese, Country Breakfast, with two poached eggs, rosemary roasted potatoes, roasted tomato, and country bread, and Smoked Salmon Plate, with cream cheese, picked mustard seeds, pickled red onion, tomato, and capers. Juices, Italian styled coffees, Starters, and Sides are tempting additions for the table, as well.

As Adella is a wine bar, its very impressive list of wines, with new wines added continually, includes Sparkling Wines, Red Wines, White Wines, and Rosé Wines, many of which can be ordered by the glass, making your evening at Adella a fascinating tour of international vineyards. Adella’s wines are imported from around the globe, like the Sparkling wine, Chardonnay/Pinot Noir, Sire de Beaupre Vin Mousseux, Brut, from France. White wines include Arinto, Quinta da Alorna, from Tejo Portugal, Chenin Blanc, Long Neck Wines, from Stellenbosch, South Africa, and Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon, Entre-Deux-Mers, Chateau du Plantier, from Bordeaux, France. Rosé wines include Garnacha/Carignan, Acustic Celler, from Catalonia, Spain. And, Red wines include Pinot Nero, Case, dell’Emilia, from Liguria, Italy, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tom Gore, from Sonoma Valley, California, and Cabernet/Merlot, Chateau Tour Negrier, Medoc, from Bordeaux, France. Adella has Wine Flight options too, always so intriguing. The Wine Flight I am eager to try is the International Flight, that includes three wines, Clos Blanc, from Bekaa Valley, Lebanon, Vini Merlot, from Bulgaria, and Kavaklidere Red Blend, from Ankara, Turkey. Other Wine Flights feature Sparkling, New World Whites, and French Reds. Dessert and Sweet Wines, Sparkling Cocktails, Wines by the Half Bottle, and International Beers are also on the menu. Stop by Adella, before or after a play, a musical, or a Hell’s Kitchen or Hudson River walk, and tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com!
