With an attentive staff in an intimate space, Chef and Restaurateur Victor, from Peru, has created a dining oasis for Hell’s Kitchen and the Lincoln Center neighborhood. Tucked into the busy 10th Avenue, between 54h and 55th Streets, Inti Peruvian Cuisine is a haven for those who love Latin and South American dishes, Pisco Sours, and the sultry rhumbas and mambos that waft in the air from a state of the art sound system. And, on Friday nights, Victor hosts live jazz, usually a trio, from 7 PM to 10:30 PM. I have attended the live jazz with the Marc Devine Piano Trio, and the energy and vibrancy of the music were extraordinary. Gregorio, a veritable Renaissance man, serves, hosts, and pours and mixes drinks at the bar, while Ronald tends the bar on weekends. Victor also hosts a Weekend Brunch, 11 AM to 3 PM, and Weekdays there’s a Happy Hour that lasts nine hours, 11 AM to 8 PM! Lunch Specials are served Weekdays, 11 AM to 5 PM, with Dinner and Bar Dining from 5 PM to 11 PM. Murals on the walls embody Peru’s culture and Inti, the Sun God, ancestor of the Incas. You might want to ask Victor and his staff about Machu Picchu.

Lunch Specials include One-Quarter Rotisserie Chicken with Steamed Vegetables, Grilled Steak with French Fries and Rice, Black Pepper Salmon with Mashed Potato and Broccoli, Tilapia in Ginger Sauce with Scallion, served with Rice or Mashed Potato, and Grilled Pork Chop with Rice and Beans or French Fries and Creole Salad. Additional international culinary options include Spaghetti in Spinach Sauce with Steak or Pork Chop, as well as Peruvian styled Chinese Fried Rice, with Eggs, Onions, Mushrooms, and Soy Sauce. Among the Dinner Soups, Appetizers, and Salads, you will find Fresh Shrimp Soup, with Rice, Green Peas, Corn, and Eggs, Sculptured Mashed Potatoes, stuffed with Beef, Onions, Raisins, Eggs, and crispy fried, Fish cut Sashimi style, in lime juice, with a creamy, spicy, Peruvian Pepper Sauce, and Avocado stuffed with Shrimp, Onion, Tomatoes, and Scallions.

Main Dinner Entrées, called Lo Fuertes, are Whole Rotisserie Chicken, Rice, French Fries, and Salad, Shrimp Sautéed with Shallots, Cilantro, White Wine, Yellow Pepper Sauce, and White Rice, Baked Tilapia with Mushrooms and Spinach, Baked Chilean Sea Bass with Mushrooms, Asparagus, and Mango Sauce, Salmon in Quinoa Sauce with Rice, and Beefsteak with French Fries, Sweet Plantain, Fried Egg, and Rice. For the authentic Spanish culinary titles of each dish, please see the full menu here. Inti has a varied Dessert Menu, including Flan and Tres Leches, plus traditional Peruvian Drinks, like Chicha Morada, a purple corn drink, and Inca Kola, a Peruvian Golden Kola, with lemon verbena. Inti has a gorgeous intimate bar, with a Premium Liquor Selection, as well as an impressive list of Red and White Wines. For Cocktails, Inti’s specialty is a selection of Pisco, a specialty brandy produced in Peru and Chile.

Inti can help you cater a party at Inti, or in your home, or at your private or corporate event. Inti is the perfect location for your next party, with such warmly vibrant murals, spicy to mild cuisine, lush melodious music, and spacious interior décor. And, on Friday nights, your guests can enjoy live jazz. When walking home from Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, a Broadway or Off-Broadway show, the High Line, Central Park, or the Fashion District, stop by Inti Peruvian Cuisine. Tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com!
