I was joined tonight at Bangkok House by Carlos Salvador, an officer with the midtown, Avenue of the Americas Commerce Bank. We had already viewed an art exhibition at the Argentine Consulate, nearby, and attended the Broadway show, Celia, this time in the Spanish version. We were quite hungry and were delighted with the Bangkok House's unique Thai cuisine. The Bangkoktini is truly inspirational, a great way to begin an evening. Carlos ordered fried calamari with chili plum sauce, and we shared edamamae-steamed soy beans and Thai crepes. He marveled at the design of the combination seafood Pad Thai, and I was thrilled with my steamed striped bass, adorned with a chili pepper, tangy and crisp.

Just as we were winding down, Nod and Chaba appeared with fried ice cream and raspberry sauce to share. The flaming rum was poured over this confection, and it was beyond imagination. What a lovely evening. Call 212.541.5943 and reserve a table at Bangkok House for before or after the theatre, or just for a lovely night at an exquisite, yet reasonable restaurant. Tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com.
