Today was very special, as my five-year-old niece came to New York for her City birthday events. After walking up and down the Eighth Avenue Food Festival, we saw the kids' show "Pinkalicious", immediately followed by a Jazz-Tap Ensemble at the Joyce Theater. Camille, and my brother, Steve, loved both shows, and Camille was able to try out her new tap shoes at The Joyce, in the sidewalk, and again at Yum Yum Bangkok!

Camille was served a huge Shirley Temple, followed by Edamame and then Pad Thai with her favorite baby corn. Steve and I began with the steamed Edamame (soy beans) and then Thai Spring Rolls. For our entrees, we decided to test the curries. I ordered shrimp in red curry, and Steve ordered squid in green curry. Both dishes were filled with fresh vegetables, and steamed rice was on the side. For dessert, Camille received a fried ice cream in raspberry sauce, with a birthday candle. This was a lovely way to celebrate a birthday.

To reserve your own Thai birthday dinner, call Yum Yum Bangkok, and ask for Nune, or tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com.
