Winter-In-The-Bahamas Vodka Martini

It’s cold and dark, and the Chicago wind whips the snow drifts ever higher, but who cares! My frosted ocean blue glass cocktail shaker from The New York Botanical Garden is at hand to mix up a batch of martinis. The imposingly-beaked silver bird head lends a tropical tone to the mixology. The recipe is simple:

Best quality vodka straight from the freezer – 4 parts
Dry vermouth – ¼ part
Mix the James Bond way
Garnish with a pickled garlic clove and jalapeño slice

Settle into a comfortable armchair amid the potted plants and wait for spring. Salut!
