Lime Leaf Thai and Continental Restaurant, on West 72nd Street, between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues, presents live jazz every Thursday night, 7:30 PM until 10:30 PM. Check with the restaurant for weekly performers. The musicians are diverse, dynamic, and delightful. Tonight's musicians were the Jeanne Gies - Bruce Edwards Duo, with Jeanne Gies on smooth and captivating vocals and Bruce Edwards on melodic and textured guitar. The ballads ranged from Smile to My Foolish Heart, and Jeanne sang several songs from her new CD, 'Mad About the Boy', as well. Bruce Edwards has a range of talent, which can be found on his Darktone Music Production Company.
Tonight I had Steamed Tofu-Vegetable Soup and a perfect Chardonnay, while I enjoyed the 2 sets of jazz. It was a cold night, and the soup was scrumptious. Call 212.501.7800, and reserve a table or a seat at the bar. There's no cover, no minimum, but the cuisine is prepared by a chef from Thailand, so you should reserve a table for a leisurely dinner, during the jazz. Tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com.
