The Harry Allen Quartet can be found almost every Monday night at Zuni, on Ninth Avenue at 43rd Street, in Hell's Kitchen and Times Square. Zuni is a warm, comfortable restaurant with unique paintings by Elizabeth Rosen. The brunches, lunches, and dinners, as well as late night snacks (I recently dined at the bar on crispy Quesadilla and a glass of sherry, after the theatre), are meticulously and generously prepared.

One recent Monday eve, I stopped by to hear the Harry Allen Quartet, and the renowned Frank Wess joined the group on his well-traveled saxophone, and a guest guitarist sat in, as well. The music was as lively as the dinner was luscious. Harry Allen's swinging music has class and pizzazz, and the evening was exhilirating and extraordinary. On a subsequent afternoon, I brought Bethany Bultman, Program Director of the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic into Zuni, because Zuni is one of the proud sponsors of the and AC Pianocraft, Inc. Piano-Plus Jazz Series. Check Zuni's Website for a full and detailed menu. Tell them you saw them on
