Chef and Restaurateur Victor, from Peru, presents relaxing jazz serenades for your Friday night Hell’s Kitchen dining. Tucked into the busy 10th Avenue, between 54h and 55th Streets, Inti Peruvian Cuisine is a haven for those who love Latin and South American dishes, Pisco Sours, and the sultry rhumbas and mambos that waft in the air from a state of the art sound system. Friday nights, Marc Devine’s live jazz duos and trios perform smooth ballads and swing, with some of Marc’s personal arrangements in the sets, from 7 PM to 10:30 PM. Recently, I enjoyed a Tamal Inti, with ground corn and chicken, tucked into corn husks, with a side of salad, as well as Victor’s famous Rotisserie Chicken and one of my favorite cocktails, a Pisco Portón Sour with Mango. Marc Devine was in his usual spot, on piano, with Hide Tanaka on bass, a duo on this evening. But, a guest vocalist stopped by, Christine Francis, and she wowed the dinner jazz fans.
